My wife Teresa and I, along with our daughter Rose, would like to take a moment to introduce you to our farm, and to the philosophy that helps guide us through our day.
We are a small family farm located in the Saugatuck area, near the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. We come to farming here in Southwest Michigan via separate but supportive passions that meld our love of our natural environment.
Growing up with beef cattle in Missouri and harboring a deep desire to farm full time, I finally lucked across my wife and biggest supporter. Without Teresa’s love and encouragement I’d probably look (and smell) a lot better, but I would never be as happy.
Teresa is a tremendously gifted artist who masterfully captures the landscape of the area through her pastels and photography.

Together we are raising, and being raised by, our daughter Rose. Like so many children, Rose keeps us grounded and rounded, and laughing. On the farm, Rose leads farm tours and helps ensure that every baby chick finds water and feed their first hours of life. She is also very creative and loves to share her ideas. Click here to read her latest work: “Rose’s Tips for Raising a Puppy”.
Farming, particularly the animal side, provides ample opportunity for us all to fully experience the trials and tribulations that life has to offer. Our love of farming stems from our desire to live with these wonderful animals in a truly natural setting. As they grow, so do we, and our lives are so much richer for it!
At Providence Farms, we don’t make demands of our land, we nurture it. We embrace the bounty that is inherent in the soil, air and water, and raise foods that are delicious, wholesome and in step with the natural order. Foods that give back as much as they take from the soil. Foods that make our bodies strong and our minds sharp.
These are the convictions that allow us to sweat through baling season, mend fences in the rain, or sit up with an ailing cow in January. It isn’t about the money I can assure you. This is a labor of love that we hope to share with you.
Thank you for joining us!
